Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrives in Moscow on Tuesday. The visit will mark the 90th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian state and Turkey and is expected to be a milestone in the history of Russian-Turkish relations.
According to the director of the Turkish Center for International Relations and Strategic Analysis TURKSAM Sinan Ogan, the visit has a highly symbolic value and is, therefore, very important for relations between the two countries. He also added that it will be the biggest visit in the recent years.
One of the important issues at talks will be the economic cooperation on South Stream gas pipeline. During the past three months, Russia has been expecting from Turkey to give a response regarding consent for the construction of a pipeline under the Black Sea.
With regard to political issues, the participants of the meeting will discuss the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the Cyprus issue, the Middle Eastern problems, and the issue of Libya.
