Khloponin to receive uniform of Terek Cossack Army

Alexander Khloponin, Russian presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, will receive a special uniform of the Terek Cossack Army worth about 15,000 rubles in May, RIA Novosti reports quoting the chieftain of the Terek Cossack Army, Vasily Bondarev.

Khloponin joined the Terek Cossack Army in late October at the grand meeting to mark the 20th anniversary of its revival, but did not receive weapons, nor a uniform.


The Terek Cossacks are an ethnic group of Cossacks, who live along the river Terek, Sunzha, Assa, Kura and Malka in the North Caucasus. The Terek Cossacks are the third in the hierarchy among the Cossack army. The headquarters of the Terek Cossack Army are located in Vladikavkaz.
