Armenia concludes conscription

Secretary of the Armenian National Security Council Artur Bagdasaryan and Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Oganyan have summed up the results of the 2010 autumn conscription today, Armenia Today reports.

A working group consisting of officials from the council and the ministry carried out monitoring of the National Security Council in 2011. The monitoring shows the need for better control over medical examinations. Some people bribe the medical examination commission to avoid military service. The sides discussed the establishment of a specialized center and invitation of clinics and medical services to work in it, Bagdasaryan said.

Oganyan underlined that conscription and expansion of a professional military work force is one of the main trends.
