Armenia proposed EU to found buffer fund for stability

Armenia has proposed that its EU partners establish a buffer fund for macroeconomic stability in realizing tax and customs reforms, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisyan said at a meeting with President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, ARKA reports.


The prime minister said that they have already reached agreements on negotiating the process with European experts. Armenia presented a reform program.

Sargsyan said that they discussed the damage caused to the economy and reforms of Armenia by the global recession.


Barroso promised to support Armenia and noted that the republic has already received support. The issue will undergo further talks.
