South Ossetia to release three Georgian citizens

South Ossetia has accepted a request by the delegation of the EuropeanCouncil to release three Georgian citizens. "During my visit I managed to receive a positive reaction to my requests from both sides, so I understood that I have an opportunity to return here", Interfax quotes Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg.

He pointed out that the three Georgian citizens, detained for illegal logging in the Leningorsk district of South Ossetia in 2009, would be handed over to the Georgian side.
