Iran views Kazakhstan as a fraternal and friendly state

Kazakhstan and Iran have great potential for improving economic cooperation, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, News Kazakhstan cites the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying.


The Kazakh Ambassador to Tehran, Bagdat Amreyev, presented his credentials to Ahmadinejad in Tehran on Tuesday.


Ahmadinejad said that he views Kazakhstan as a fraternal and friendly state. The sides noted the high level of bilateral ties and constructive cooperation within the framework of CICMA, OIC, OEC and SCO.


The Kazakh diplomat said that decision on the Caspian status and the launching of the Uzen-Gyzylgaya-Bereket-Etrek-Gorgan railway are the main issues of bilateral cooperation. The railway will allow trade turnover between Central Asian states and Iran to increase. It will also connect the Middle East and the Persian Gulf with Russia and European states.


The ambassador proposed improvement of ties between Kazakh and Iranian regions by signing deals and speeding up economic and cultural projects.


Ahmadinejad expressed readiness to support the resolution of all issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
