Medvedev demands improvement in CSTO cooperation

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev demanded the Russian Defense Ministry to boost cooperation of the armies of members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), RIA Novosti reports.


The president said that the ministry needs to improve control over the forces sufficiently, especially concerning control over joint strategic commands and armies. All related issues will be discussed at the Center-2011 training. Special attention will be paid to cooperation between different branches of arms.


The CSTO consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
