The United States has been cooperating successfully with Azerbaijan on energy issues, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza said in an interview with Trend on Friday.
"For the first time a corridor was created for oil exports from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. Now a new generation of investment is helping to diversify gas supplies to Europe," Bryza noted.
According to him, there is a need to address the issues of gas transit and sales. In addition, the agreement on gas transit concluded between Turkey and Azerbaijan in June last year should be implemented. Bryza hopes that both countries will soon settle the question.
He also noted that efforts are being made for the opening of direct flights between the US and Azerbaijan.
