Russian Foreign Ministry fears Libyan crisis may increase terrorism
Events in Libya could provoke new acts of international terrorism, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today at a press-conference after talks with his Algerian counterpart Murat Medelsi, RIA Novosti reported.
On March 17 UN Security Council March adopted a resolution closing the airspace over by Libya to prevent casualties among the rebel forces and civilian population. On March 19 a coalition consisting of the United States, Britain, France and other countries started military operations against Libya.
"We find the actions of the coalition disproportionate compared to the goals set in the UN Security Council Resolution of 1973", said Medelsi.
