A special operation was held in Urus-Martan district of Chechnya to neutralize members of illegal armed formations. One militant was killed, RIA Novosti reported, with reference to law enforcement agencies.
"The special operation began on Thursday afternoon. It took place in a forest in the Urus-Martan district of the republic. Security forces surrounded members of illegal armed groups. During the ensuing fire-fight one gunman was killed, " a spokesman said.
