The border between Russia and Abkhazia on the Psou river will receive two automobile bridges and pedestrian crossings by the end of 2011, which would greatly facilitate traffic, the agency Apsnypress said on Thursday.
The construction and reconstruction process might cause certain difficulties during the high season in the summer, the chairman of the State Customs Committee of Abkhazia, Said Tarkil, said in Sukhumi after negotiations with the head of Russian Federal Customs Service, Andrei Belyaninov.
According to him, there is already tension in the border and customs zone because passenger and cargo traffic has increased three-fold.
