Georgia sends financial assistance to Japan

The Government of Georgia has allocated $ 1 million for victims of the disaster in Japan, says the Georgian Foreign Ministry.

Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia David Jalagania talked about providing the financial assistance to Japan with the Japanese Ambassador in Georgia,Masayoshi Kamohara on Friday. At the same time, the Georgian authorities have previously said that they were willing to send 45 tons of drinking water to Japan, as well as a rescue team.

After the earthquake of magnitude 9.0 on March 11 in the north-western Japan, explosions took place at three reactors of the nuclear power plant, Fukushima-1.
