Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has reappointed General-Lieutenant Sergey Chenchik as the head of the Main Interior Department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the North Caucasian Federal District, RIA Novosti cites the press service of the Kremlin as saying on Friday.
Chenchik has been heading the structure since 2010.
The Russian General Prosecutor’s Office in the NCFD revealed false information from regional police departments concerning income information and other corruption affairs. 17 police officers underwent disciplinary punishments and two were fired.
The structure says that some of the staff gave false information about income from sales of transport, information on ownership of housing, apartments, lands, vehicles and rooms. A police officer presented a note in which he did not mention ownership of a house, nine apartments, 15 land plots and a room.
There are also instances of police officers of the Main Interior Department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the NCFD being directors of firms and self-employed businessmen. Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Ivan Sydoruk presented the facts against the head of the Main Interior Department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the NCFD.
