At a press conference organized today by RIA-Novosti the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, talked about the active pursuits of the Ingush authorities in reducing the unemployment rate in Ingushetia. According to Yevkurov, in the past year the authorities managed to reduce the unemployment rate only by 4%. In the current year this figure is expected to reach 10%.
Yevkurov stressed the importance of investments for the development of the republic. Among the investment projects he mentioned agreements with Chinese entrepreneurs to organize a sewing factory about 500 million rubles worth, and greenhouse production more than 1 billion rubles worth. Ingushetia is of investment interest also for a Canadian company for timber processing.
In addition, the head of Ingushetia argued against the possible fingerprinting of all North Caucasus citizens.
