The inauguration ceremony of Ramzan Kadyrov as the head of the Chechen Republic took place at the State Theatre and Concert Hall in Grozny today,

More than 800 guests attended the inauguration.
The plenipotentiary presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin read out from the stage the message of President Dmitry Medvedev to the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.
In his speech, Khloponin noted that to date the Chechen Republic is one of the most dynamically developing regions of Russia. He expressed confidence that positive results achieved by the head of Chechnya will contribute to the raising of living standards in Chechnya.
On February 28 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev proposed the candidacy of Ramzan Kadyrov to the Chechen parliament as the head of Chechnya. On March 5 the MPs have unanimously voted for Kadyrov as the head of the republic. Kadyrov’s office will last for five years.
For the first time Ramzan Kadyrov was elected head of the republic on March 2, 2007.
