Khloponin confirms resignation of deputy

Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin has confirmed the resignation of his deputy Arkady Yedelev, RIA Novosti reports.


From 1992-1998 Yedelev headed the department of Security of Strategic Objects at the Trans-Baikal FSB. Since 1998 he was the head of the State Security Structures in Kavkazskie Mineralnye Vody. In 2001 he became head of operational coordination of the FSB in the North Caucasus and in 2002 - deputy head of the FSB department for combating terrorism. In September 2004 he was appointed Deputy Interior Minister, chief of the regional headquarters for the counter-terrorism operations in the North Caucasus. In August 2009 he was appointed curator of all services and departments of internal bodies in Ingushetia. On April 17, 2010 he was appointed vice presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District of Russia.
