Nazarbayev wants decentralization of power and expansion of parliament's authority

The re-elected Kazakh president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has spoken in favor of the expansion of parliamentary authority and the decentralization of power, Trend reports.


Nazarbayev made the statement during his inauguration ceremony this morning. Nazarbayev received 95.5% of vote in recent polls.


The president promised to continue the democratization of society.


Nazarbayev said that there were no smear campaigns at the polls. He urged the further development of political culture as the only way to real democracy and an efficient multi-party system.
