Armenian opposition calls for mass rally to change country’s government

An opposition meeting is currently taking place in Yerevan, on Freedom Square. The head of the central office of the opposition Armenian National Congress, Levon Zurabian, has called for ensuring a change of power without disruption.
At the same time he stressed that, in recent weeks, there has been a strong desire on the part of the authorities not to comply with opposition demands. "Therefore we need decisive actions to force the leadership to come round," Levon Zurabian said, calling for nationwide acts of civil disobedience.
The authorities allowed the opposition parties to rally on Freedom Square, NEWS.am reports. Thousands of supporters of the Armenian National Congress gathered on Freedom Square on Friday evening.
