Musavat Party members in Sumgayit are planning to form a new political party, a Musavat member supporting the initiative, Keramet Salayev, told Trend.
He said that a foundation conference of the new organization will be held in May or June.
The youth of Sumgayit and other regions will take part in the new political party. The new party name has not been chosen yet.
The Sumgayit office of Musavat announced resignation of some 20 of its members in January. They explained that the reason for leaving the party is Musavat“s refusal to join the People“s Front of Azerbaijan. Conservatists are dominating in the party, violating the party charter and refusing to take alternate steps.
Isa Gambar proposed joining the People“s Front of Azerbaijan at the 21st anniversary of the front on July 15, 2010, following the Rasulzade-Elchibeya course. The PFA agreed to join Musavat on September 25.
