The European Union tightened sanctions against the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. The decision was made at the meeting of 27 foreign ministers of the EU in Luxembourg, EU diplomatic head Catherine Ashton said.
She did not speak about the details of new sanctions against the ruling regime, but said that the EU would continue to deprive the Libyan authorities of oil and gas export money, RIA Novosti reports.
In March, the EU widened a list of sanctions against Libya.
