A report by the US State Department does not forecast the results of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan within the Minsk Group of the OSCE, the US embassy in Armenia stated.
“The position reflected in the report follows the general direction implemented in development of such documents for all countries. We continue standing for the three principles of the Helsinki agreement: territorial integrity, right to self-determination and non-use of force.
The report on human rights in Armenia is objective, it covers the government’s achievements and problems in this sphere. We consider an effective dialogue with Armenia to be continued,” the embassy stated.
As Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier, the US State Department published a report on human rights in Armenia in 2010. As for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the report says that ethnic Armenian separatists, due to support of Armenia, continue controlling most of Nagorno-Karabakh and seven Azeri regions.
