Pakistani president arrives in Turkey

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has arrived on a four-day visit to Turkey. He was met by Turkish President Abdullah Gul at the Chankaya Residence, TRT reports.


The guest was welcomed by the honorary guards.


The presidents expressed willingness to develop economic ties and achieve high results, to develop railway communication and reduce travelling time.


They had a closed-door meeting followed by a joint press conference.


Gul and Zardari stressed on the need for stability and peace in Afghanistan.


Istanbul will host the fifth meeting on the trilateral mechanism between Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Their armed forces had joined training.

Pakistan proposed to name the railway line with Turkey the „Rose Line“, symbolizing Gul“s family name.
