Moscow hosts “Caspian Dialogue 2011” economic forum

Moscow has hosted the “Caspian Dialogue 2011” international economic forum, ITAR-TASS reports.


One of the main topics was the policy on developing the resources and the legal status of the Caspian Sea. Other topics are development of transport infrastructure in the region, construction of energy-efficient housing, use of information technologies, development of fishing and restoration of biological diversity.


The forum will be held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Environment, the Russian Academy of Sciences, diplomats, scientists and experts from Caspian states, the CIS and Europe.


Alexander Golovin, Russian special presidential representative for delimitation and demarcation of border with the CIS, Alexander Fomin, deputy head of the Russian Fishing Agency, Seyed Mahmoud Reza, Iranian Ambassador to Russia, officials from Russian and foreign oil and gas companies, including LUKOIL, Gazprom and Zarubezhneftegas, were invited to the forum.


Sokhrab Rakhimov, head of Azerbaijani department for complex ecological monitoring of the Caspian Region of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, will represent his country.
