Chechnya names new head of law enforcement agencies

Mohammed Daudov, a police colonel and hero of Russia, has been appointed to the post of first deputy prime minister of Chechnya, Interfax reports.

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov introduced Daudov to the Cabinet ministers and the heads of various departments during a government meeting.

"Daudov has abundant experience of cooperation with security forces and law enforcement agencies. Previously, he worked as a head of the Shali Department of Internal Affairs, was awarded the title of Hero of Russia for his courage and heroism in the fight against illegal armed groups, now he has the rank of colonel. Taking it all into account, we decided to appoint him to the post of the first deputy prime minister. His responsibilities will include cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the local structures of federal security agencies," Kadyrov said.

The Chechen president noted that Daudov’s predecessor "handled his job well."
"However he has been transferred to the position of another deputy prime minister and will have responsibility for social problems," Kadyrov said.
