Azerbaijani prime minister to participate in nuclear summit

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade is representing the country at the conference for collection of finances for Chernobyl projects and the summit for secure and innovative use of nuclear energy in Kiev on Wednesday, Trend cites the Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine as saying.


The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development plays an important role in collecting finances for Chernobyl projects. The conference has invited high-ranking foreign partners of Ukraine, who will take part in the Kiev summit on secure and innovative use of nuclear energy on the same day.


Ukraine needs some 740 million euros to complete Chernobyl projects, including construction of the new cover for the nuclear facility and a new warehouse for spent fuel.


Ukraine requested the international community to donate finances and support nuclear initiatives of Ukraine.
