Dagestani President Magomedsalam Magomedov will meet figures in culture, science, education and students in Moscow today. The meeting will see deputies from the Federation Council and the Russian and Dagestani parliaments and members of the Dagestani government, RIA Dagestan reports.
The meeting is dedicated to the 3rd Congress of Dagestani People, prospects of developing the republic and consolidation of Dagestan. Sides will discuss inter-ethnic issues in Moscow, to prevent escalation of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional tensions.
Magomedov’s meeting is a continuation of the civil forum of December 2010. 100,000 Dagestani citizens live in Moscow and the Moscow Region. The Dagestani president wants to hear their views on the situation, proposals and projects. The Dagestani office under the Russian president has six federal and Moscow TV channels accredited to reflect the meeting.
The office says that they receive questions on their website. Answering them will take up most of the meeting. The Dagestani office will also carry out polls to analyze the mood of Dagestanis, their social adaptation and self-identification.
During the break a film will be shown about Dagestan and a stall will sell books of Dagestani poets and writers. Copies of the book “The Traditions and Customs of the Dagestani Peoples” will be given as a gifts. A concert will conclude the meeting.
