Iran warns against attacking it

The Iranian Commander of Ground Forces, General Ahmad Reza Purdestan, warned that any response to military actions against his country will be “crushing”, ZMAN.com reports.

The statement was made at a meeting with foreign military attaches in Tehran. The general added that the Iranian military aim to provide security and realization of national interests, Rosbalt reports.

WikiLeaks reported that US Congressman Garry Akerman had a meeting with Ariel Levit, deputy head of the Israeli Commission for Nuclear Energy. Levit said that Israel considers a military operation against Iran impossible.

Levit said that Iran took into account the bombings of Iraq’s Osirak nuclear reactor in 1981 and spread out its nuclear facilities. The Israeli official believes that Iran may develop nuclear arms in 2-3 years. However, there is no precise information on the secret nuclear program of Iran.
