Russian Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus
Federal District Alexander Khloponin held a meeting with the chief federal
inspectors in the North Caucasus regions.
Among the priorities for the next years, Khloponin particularly
highlighted the issue of control over the socio-economic development
of the district at regional level. Khloponin said it is equally
important to ensure control over the expenditure of federal funds
for improvements in regional labor markets.
The key issue in the social sphere will be stability during the
electoral cycle of 2011-2012. According to Alexander Khloponin, the chief
federal inspectors should closely monitor the process of registration
of party lists and associations in the forthcoming elections to the
State Duma, in order to prevent infiltration of candidates with a
criminal background.
The long-term task for the representatives of the federal government iт
the regions should be to support the Russian-speaking residents.
Another important area for the efforts of chief federal inspectors is
cooperation between public and civil society structures. Finally, an
anti-corruption policy should be maintained regarding all officials,
including the top leaders and senior officials.
