The police in Chechnya’s Kurchaloyevsky District killed two militants on Thursday, including a militant leader who was an emissary of the international terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, RIA Novosti cites a police source as saying.
The police had a shootout at the Niki-Khita village. No police officers were injured.
They killed a militant leader, Haled Yusef Muhamed Al-Emirat, a citizen of Jordan born in 1969 and a member of an illegal armed formation named Saldygov, from Grozny born in 1986. An unnumbered AK was found.
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov told journalists that an Arabian mercenary named Mohanad was killed at Avtury point of Shalinsky District. Kadyrov said on Thursday that other identified militants are unlikely to be found in the area.
