A shootout between the police and armed assailants occurred in the village of Gasanabad, 5km away from Sanandadzh in Iran’s Kurdistan, Trend reports.
There have been several terrorist attacks in Iran’s Kurdistan. A border post in Marivan was attacked on April 2 with four people dead and five wounded. Road police officers were attacked earlier with one of them killed.
The police were also attacked in the city on March 24, followed by another attack within an hour. Two police officers died and three were wounded.
The Pezhak terrorist organization took responsibility for the terrorist attack in Marivan on April 2.
The terrorist attack yesterday started at 15.00 (local time). It involved hostages. The police have not given any details about the shootout.
