A homemade bomb was defused on Friday, discovered in the Baksan region of Kabardino-Balkaria, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the operational headquarters in the republic.
"In the course of the reconnaissance activities in the counter-terrorism operations, law enforcement officials in the woods four kilometers away from the town of Baksan discovered an improvised explosive device with a capacity of about 800grams of TNT, " reads the statement.
The bomb was equipped with a radio-controlled mechanism, and filled with striking elements. Due to the danger of transporting the device, it was detonated on the spot.
