Azeri courts may impose a veto on pardons

The Azerbaijani courts may get the authority to deprive certain persons convicted of serious crimes of the right to a pardon. This proposal was put forward at today's meeting of the Committee on Legal Policy and State Building of the Milli Majlis by Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Trend reports.

Hasanguliyev proposed to toughen penalties for rape, premeditated murder, violence against children and for other serious crimes.
