Iran and Turkmenistan agree on gas transit

Iran and Turkmenistan have signed an agreement on gas transit, the head of the economics department under the foreign ministry of Iran Gulamrza Ansari stated, Mehr reports.

Ansari stated that the volume of transported gas from Turkmenistan through the Iranian corridor will be 20 million cubic meters per day.

This week Ashkhabad is hosting a session of the foreign ministers of Iran, Uzbekistan,Turkmenistan, Qatar and Oman. They are discussing cooperation between the countries in the sphere of international traffic and cargo transit.

On Monday a new international traffic and transit corridor was established along the Uzbekistan-Iran-Oman-Qatar route.
