Krasnodar Territory is the leading region for housing construction in Russia. 8.8% of total housing launched in the country belongs to the region, RIA Novosti reports.
Krasnodar Territory built 9.3 million square meters of housing in the first quarter of 2011, exceeding the figures of the same period of 2010.
Second place belongs to Moscow Region with 8.1%, third to Tatarstan - 5.8%, fourth to Tyumen Region - 5.7%, fifth to Saint Petersburg and Nizhegorodskaya Regions - 4% each.
Krasnodar Territory launched 814,600 square meters of housing space in January-March 2011, which is a drop of 4.3% compared with the same period last year.
