The militants killed today in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, Nalchik, were extorting money from businessmen, RIA Novosti reports.
The killed militants, born 1975 and 1974, were locals from Baksan. They were leaders of criminal gangs and supporters of extremists.
Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that a BMW was surrounded on the crossing of Nakhushev and Chekhov Streets in Nalchik today. They opened fire and were killed.
A criminal case was initiated on an attempt on the life of a police officer and illegal arms trafficking.
