Azerbaijan may go beyond TURKPA borders in cooperation with Turkic-language peoples

Establishment of TURKPA opened new horizons in cooperation with Turkic-language peoples, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov said at the second plenary of TURKPA today, Trend reports.


He called for the preservation and expansion of the cultural values of all Turkic peoples. Azerbaijan is interested in all forms of cooperation within TURKPA and other international organizations.


TURKPA consists of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Its goal is the unity of Turkic states, discussion of common problems and making decisions on the legislative level.


Establishment of the organization belongs to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. He announced the idea at the 8th summit of heads of Turkic states in Turkey in November 2006.
