Seven Kurdish rebels killed in Turkey

The Turkish army has eliminated seven militants of the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Tunceli province in the south-east of the country, RIA Novosti reports, with reference to local media reports and sources in the security forces.

A counter-terrorism operation in the region is continuing.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has been going on for more than 25 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. The UN and the EU recognize the PKK as a terrorist organization.
