UN Security Council condemns terrorist attack in Marrakech

The UN Security Council has condemned the terrorist attack in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh, in which approximately 20 people died, including a foreigner, RIA Novosti cites the UN press-service as saying.


The blast happened at a popular tourist café on the central square of Marrakesh on April 28. Various information sources say that about 14-18 people died, 11 of whom were European citizens. 20 more people were injured. The authorities say that the blast was caused by a suicide-bomber.


The 15 members of the council said that terrorism in any form is a serious problem for international security and peace and expressed hope that it will be coped with using the obligations of the UN Charter.
