Two militant leaders killed in Kabardino-Balkaria

Two militant leaders have been killed in a special operation on the border of Stavropol Territory and Kabardino-Balkaria this Friday morning, RIA Novosti cites a local police source as saying.


The militants were surrounded in a private house in the village of Progress on the border of Kirovsky District in Stavropol Territory and Kabardino-Balkaria. 10 militants, including two women, were killed in the operation, preliminary police information says.


32-year old Kazbek Tashuyev of the Baksan militant group and 22-year old Tamir Shameyev from Nalchik, who headed the Chegem group, and a 31-year old assistant of Taushev, Aslanbek Khamurzov, were killed.
