Turkey urges Syria to start reforms

The Turkish National Security Council has held a session chaired by President Abdullah Gul. The session lasted about 6.5 hours, TRT reports.


The session considered events within and beyond the country.


The National Security Council urged Syria to start immediate realization of reforms in Syria. The council’s declaration stressed on the role of reform in legal political, social and economic demands of the Syrian population.


The council pointed out the immediate fulfillment of cease-fire in Libya. The declaration underlines fulfillment of demands of Libyans and humanitarian aid to them.


The security council touched upon the events in Iraq. A national consensus is to resolve the problems in Iraq.
