Resolution project over Iran to be drafted next week

"The Six" international intermediaries on the Iranian nuclear issue (Russia, the US, China, the UK, France and Germany) will introduce a
project of new sanctions against Teheran to the Security Council of the UN, reports RIA Novosti. The US and some other Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons, hiding this behind a peaceful energy program. The UN Security Council has passed several resolutions and imposed sanctions on Iran, demanding that it stop its uranium enrichment program. Teheran denies all charges, saying that its nuclear program is aimed at providing the country with electricity. A source said that the project of sanctions will be proposed on condition that the resolution be passed in mid-June.
The situation over Iran's nuclear program worsened after Iran announced its readiness to start uranium enrichment to a level of 20% at the plant in Natanz.
