Turkish PM calls on Gaddafi to step down

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has joined the chorus of voices calling on Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi to leave office and spare further bloodshed, Euronews reports.

“The future, liberty, stability, peace and justice can’t be built on blood, so we wish the Libyan leader to pull out immediately and step down for himself and the future of his country,“ Erdogan said.

Until now Turkey had refrained from calling for regime change.
