Government chairman demands updating program for development of North Caucasus

Minister of Regional Development Victor Basargin said that the state program for development of the North Caucasus will have received 336.9 billion rubles from the federal budget by 2025, RIA Novosti reports.


202 billion rubles will come from the ministries and other structures until 2013, he said at the council for development of the region in Yessentuki with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin today.


53.9 billion rubles of 202 billion will be provided until 2013. There are 30 priority projects realized until 2013, costing about 172.4 billion rubles.


Putin demanded the ministry to update the program for the development of the North Caucasus, which combines the federal purpose program South of Russia and programs for the development of Chechnya and Ingushetia.


Basargin said that 33 industrial , 88 agriculture, 13 energy, 210 transport, 170 housing and utilities, 790 healthcare, sports, culture facilities and 13 tourism facilities had been built.


GDP per capita rose from 79,000 to 219,000 rubles. The average nominal wage rose almost 250%, from 10,000 to 23,000 rubles.
Unemployment dropped from 16% to 5%. Poverty dropped from 16.5% to 9%.
