Dmitri Medvedev congratulates CIS leaders and the peoples of Georgia and Moldova on Victory Day.

Russian President Dmitri Medvedev has congratulated leaders of the CIS states, the Abkhaz and Ossetian presidents and the peoples of Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova on the 65th anniversary of Victory Day, reports the Kremlin's press-service.

"Our peoples went through war-time difficulties and deprivation with honor and fought back the threat of fascist enslavement. Unselfish adherence to ideals of faithful service to the motherland is still a moral direction for the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan, who bear in mind the heroic deeds of our fathers", Medvedev said in particular when addressing Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev.

The Russian president also addressed the presidents of Armenia and Belarus, pointing out the commitment of our peoples to the high ideals of the Great Patriotic War.
