Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has appointed Colonel Nikolai Ruy as the Deputy Police Chief of Krasnodar Territory and head investigator. Colonel Vyacheslav Bolgov became Ruy’s deputy, RIA Novosti reports.
Medvedev also appointed Colonel Vitaly Shevchenko as the Deputy Police Chief of the Southern Federal District, Colonel Mikhail Molokanov as the Deputy Police Chief of Volgograd Region and Alexander Rechitsky as the Minister of the Interior of Adygeya.
12 people were killed in the Kushyovskaya Cossack village in Krasnodar Territory in November 2010. A local criminal group was operating for many years with the connivance of the police. 12 people were detained, including the organizer of the crime.
The Prosecutor General’s Office, the Investigation Committee and the Interior Ministry started mass inspection of police structures. Crimes were revealed. The regional Police Chief, Sergey Kucheryuk, was dismissed.
