NATO starts second phase of Libya operation

NATO has stabilized the situation in Libya and started the second phase of the operation - destruction of Muammar Gaddafi's command centers. NATO officials underlined that Gaddafi himself is not a target, NEWSru.com reports.

The Libyan leader has not been seen in public for 10 days. Some media believe that he is either wounded or dead.

Italian General Claudio Gabellini said that they have no information on Gaddafi's location. Libyan officials say that he is mourning over the death of his son Seifu Al-Arab, who died in an air attack on the night of May 1. Gaddafi was also at the residence in Tripoli.

Editor of the Jeel Libya website Adel Sunnala said that Gaddafi has tens of well-equipped bunkers. Personal security has always been Gaddafi's priority.
