Deputies of the City Duma of Stavropol have elected Vice-Mayor Igor Bestuzhy as the head of the city's administration, RIA Novosti reports.
Stavropol has a new charter, allowing the city to have a mayor and a city-manager.
The other candidate for the position was head of the administration of Leninsky District Andrey Jatdoyev.
City Mayor Nikolai Paltsev resigned at own will on March 25. He is currently the deputy chairman of the regional government, supervising healthcare.
Speaker of the City Duma Georgy Kolyagin became the head of Stavropol on April 5, he was supervising the tariff commission of the Stavropol Territory.
