The chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Petros Efthymiou, has arrived in Azerbaijan on May 12. He was welcomed by Bakhar Muradov, Deputy Chairman of Parliament and head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the OSCE PA, and other officials at the International Airport named after Heydar Aliyev, ANS reports.
Efthymiou noted that Azerbaijan is one of the leading states of the region. He is visiting Azerbaijan to hold talks on security, the economy, ecology, human rights, democracy and a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The OSCE official will have meetings and discussions on bilateral ties. He will visit the tomb of Heydar Aliyev and the Honorary Alley and the Alley of Sheikhs.
