Russian president supports establishment of People’s Front

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev supports the establishment of the All-Russian People’s Front, ITAR-TASS reports.


The initiative to establish the organization came from Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Friday.


Putin is having a meeting with the future staff of the front. The first meeting was held on Saturday. Putin continued the talks in Tolyatti at an engineering plant on Wednesday. The plant’s staff are expected to join the front.


The PM discussed the issue at a restaurant in Sochi on Wednesday night.


Medvedev and Putin considered the establishment at the parade on the Red Square on May 9. At the first part of the parade Medvedev was exchanging views with Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov. At the second part the president and premier started discussions.


Medvedev has not commented on the issue. The Kremlin does not comment on Putin’s statement about support of Medvedev in establishing a fund.
