Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said he was impressed with the May 9 military parade in Moscow in honor of the 65th anniversary of victory in World War Two, reports Interfax.
"We enjoyed the Moscow parade," he said at a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov in Baku.
"We are very pleased that our officers were invited to take part in this parade. It symbolizes our unity," the Azerbaijani leader added. "It was certainly not easy to gather the representatives of so many countries, but the parade of military equipment really impressed," Aliyev said.
Serdyukov noted it was of vital importance to represent the military forces of most of the CIS states in the parade.
Aliyev expressed hope that the visit of the Russian defense minister would promote Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation, in particular in the defense sphere.
